Class Policies

Should you need to cancel or reschedule a class at Urban Spools, we require 72 hours notice.  A full refund will be issued or you may request a Class Credit to be used toward another class we offer.  If a cancellation is received less than 72 hours prior to the class, no refund or Class Credit will be issued.  This allows the teachers at Urban Spools to be fully prepared for the correct number of students and to allow for time to fill the slot in classes that often have a waiting list.

This monthly clubhouse will be the meeting place to see the latest Urban Spools Block of the Month programs and more. Each month, there will be a quick discussion for that month's block for each different block of the month quilt. There are four different block of the month programs and we will discuss each one separately.

You have made that first quilt top but what are the next steps to get it to sofa snuggle time? This class will teach you how to quilt that quilt top using your domestic sewing machine. Part two of our Intro to Quilting series will cover the quilting aspect of quilting. The art of attaching the quilt top to the batting and backing fabrics. This after school camp is a great way for your tween or teen to jump into the world of garment-making. We will work through multiple garment projects. The students will finish this series with completed garments, fashion illustration skills and some beginning pattern making. We will use both woven fabrics and knit fabrics in this course.

Kids After School Sewing Club is back with some fun, new projects to get their creative juices flowing!

This after school club for more advanced sewer will be focusing on projects that build on the basics. Projects will include garment, bags, stuffed animals, and quilts. Club members should have completed at least one month of level I sewing club. You can take both level I and level II as the projects will be very different.

"This stunning greenwork embroidery and patchwork quilt by SweetPea Designs has eighteen different blocks. The different blocks range in sizes - 2x6, 4x6, 2x10, 4x10, 6x6 and 6x10. To complete the quilt as shown you will need a hoop that is 6x10. You can use a 5x7 hoop but would only be able to make the blocks up to and including the 4x6 ones.
