Beginner Garment Sewing
Learning how to sew garments empowers you to create custom, well-fitting clothing, express your personal style, and develop a valuable skill that saves money and promotes sustainability. Our Beginner Garment Sewing classes are designed to get you started and guide you through learning sewing skills that will help you as you work through various patterns.
PLEASE NOTE: You must have a working knowledge of how to operate a sewing machine for all of these classes. Just getting started? Take our Intro to Sewing, Part 1: Machine Basics class and our Intro to Sewing, Part 2: In the Sewing Room class before taking this class. We also highly recommend taking the Beginner Sewing: Bucket Hat class, as well.

Level 1 Garment Tops
Tailored for beginners, this level focuses on the fundamentals - measurements, pattern reading, and fabric handling. You have mastered this level when you feel comfortable reading and successfully completing Beginner level patterns with basic adjustments to lengths and hemming.
Level 1 Garment Bottoms
Tailored for beginners, this level focuses on the fundamentals in construction of bottom garments - measurements, pattern reading, and fabric handling. You have mastered this level when you feel comfortable reading and successfully completing Beginner level bottom patterns with basic adjustments to lengths and hemming.
