Ever been curious about the overlock/serger machine and what it can do, but been too scared to try it? Join teacher Kerri Besse in learning how to overcome your fears as she first walks you through step by step threading the machine. She will also teach you tricks to re-threading the machine that save you time and frustration. Once the first project begins, students will be given some pointers on how to cut out knit fabrics and the differences between them and woven fabrics. At the end of the first two nights you will have a cute headband to show off.
The 2nd portion of class, three nights, will focus on making your very own T Shirt. Once again you will be given in depth instruction on cutting our your fabric properly, how to use a twin needle, and how to insert a neck band. This 5 week class is the first step to falling in love with your serger and knitted fabrics. Students must bring their serger to class.
