Summer Camp: Pajama Pants
You won't be hitting snooze on this class! This camp is for those that have been taking sewing classes and are ready to branch out into clothing as well as everyone that has been in any of our Afterschool Sewing Clubs. The campers will make a pair of pajama pants from scratch using a pattern and high-quality cotton. Each camper gets to make their own design choices along the way so that each set of pj's will reflect the maker. Project supplies and snacks are included in the camp. Must have prior sewing experience, be able to wind a bobbin and thread a sewing machine independently.
In this camp, Students will review their basic sewing skills, take physical measurements and apply these to their pattern, select fabric for their pajamas and prepare the pattern. Students will transfer pattern markings to fabric, cut their fabric and sew their pants. Students will learn about design options such as adding cuffs, ruffles, pockets and the difference between drawstring closures and elastic.
Some Students will be very new to garments and may take the entire week to finish their pajamas, others have made many garments and will finish theirs much faster. Those that finish early will be encouraged to make a second pair of pajamas using different finishes to create a different look. Since we have set up this camp to accommodate a variety of skill levels, Campers that repeat this camp will also be encouraged to select different fabrics and finishes as well.

Skill Details: | Ages 8 - 12 yrs old (no exceptions) Prerequisite:Campers must have taken lets get sewing summer camp or 10 hours of sewing instruction or equivalent experience. A waiver must be signed on the first day of camp. Please let staff know of any food allergies prior to the first day of camp. |
Materials Included: | All materials needed for this class are included with the price. If you opt to purchase a Baby Lock Joy sewing machine for your child for camp, the sewing machine will be unboxed and ready for use on the first day of class for exclusive use by your child for the week. At the end of the week, we will box it up and send it home with your child. |

Cancellations with more than 3 days prior notice may request a full refund. Cancellations received 1 - 3 days before the class will receive credit towards another class.
