Improv Piecing

Have you been curious or maybe fearful about Improv Piecing? Each month, explore a new improv block technique which can then be used to make a placemat, bag or combined with other blocks to make a quilt!

Improv (short for improvisational) piecing is the process of beginning without know where it is going to end. In quilting, it is a process of sewing without patterns or measurements. Each Student will learn a new approach to sewing improv while also developing an identity through fabric and color that is uniquely you! This promises to be a rewarding and relaxing sewing experience.

In this class, you will learn multiple ways of approaching fabric colors, cutting fabric, and handling scraps. Students will review the importance of "quilting rules", which rules can be broken and how to maintain structural integrity of the quilt when you break the rules.

A different improv technique will be taught each month so repeat this class as often as you like!
