Piecing Technique: Improv Piecing
Have you been curious or maybe fearful about Improv Piecing? Learn improv block techniques to unlock endless creativity, allowing you to break free from patterns, explore bold designs, and create one-of-a-kind quilts that truly reflect your artistic vision.
In this class, you will learn multiple ways of approaching fabric colors, cutting fabric, and handling scraps. Students will review the importance of "quilting rules", which rules can be broken and how to maintain structural integrity of the quilt when you break the rules. Each Student will also explore fabric and color that is uniquely you!
Different improv techniques are taught each month so repeat this class as often as you like!

| Skill Details: | Ages 15+ Must have a working knowledge of how to operate a sewing machine. Just getting started? Take our Intro to Sewing, Part 1: Machine Basics class and our Intro to Sewing, Part 2: In the Sewing Room class before taking this class. Must have knowledge of basic piecing and able to use consistent 1/4" seam allowances. Just getting started? Take our Intro to Quilting Part 1: Piecing class. |

Cancellations with more than 3 days prior notice may request a full refund. Cancellations received 1 - 3 days before the class will receive credit towards another class. Urban Spools is Moving!
After 10 years in Casa Linda Plaza, we are moving on to a bigger and better location! But, this relocation will happen in 2 phases.

We are now open for business in our temporary home approximately 1 mile from Mr Sewing Machine in West Dallas at 2936 Reward Lane. Here, we will continue to offer the products and services you expect from Urban Spools - Baby Lock sewing machines, modern fabric, patterns, sewing classes, longarm quilting services, and machine repair services.
Phase 2: NEW Location for 2025

Early 2025, we will open our new permanent home back in East Dallas. Our new location will offer more retail space, additional classroom capacity, and an overall better location experience to better serve you. We will keep you all informed with dates and details on our website, social media, and at our temp location so stay tuned!
