Machine Applique Techniques
Applique by machine can be accomplished using a variety of methods. In this class, try them all to determine you favorite for adding to garments and into your quilts.
In this class, you will learn three different machine applique techniques while creating a sampler of each style:
- Turned edge applique using a facing material or stabilizer
- Raw-edge applique using a straight stitch and decorative stitches
- Reverse applique which can add a new dimension

| Skill Details: | Ages 15+ Must have a working knowledge of how to operate a sewing machine. Just getting started? Take our Intro to Sewing, Part 1: Machine Basics class and our Intro to Sewing, Part 2: In the Sewing Room class before taking this class. Must have knowledge of basic piecing and able to use consistent 1/4" seam allowances. Just getting started? Take our Intro to Quilting Part 1: Piecing class. |

Cancellations with more than 3 days prior notice may request a full refund. Cancellations received 1 - 3 days before the class will receive credit towards another class. Urban Spools is Moving!
After 10 years in Casa Linda Plaza, we are moving on to a bigger and better location! But, this relocation will happen in 2 phases.
Phase 1: Temp Location starting June 1, 2024

We are now open for business in our temporary home approximately 1 mile from Mr Sewing Machine in West Dallas at 2936 Reward Lane. Here, we will continue to offer the products and services you expect from Urban Spools - Baby Lock sewing machines, modern fabric, patterns, sewing classes, longarm quilting services, and machine repair services.
Phase 2: NEW Location for 2025

Early 2025, we will open our new permanent home back in East Dallas. Our new location will offer more retail space, additional classroom capacity, and an overall better location experience to better serve you. We will keep you all informed with dates and details on our website, social media, and at our temp location so stay tuned!
