Level 1 Get Started: Garment Sewing Tops
Start your garment sewing journey with this beginner-friendly class, perfect for those who can sew but are new to clothing, as you create your first top and learn fabric selection, fitting, and construction basics.
In this class, you will start on building a solid foundation in garment sewing. You will learn how to take accurate body measurements, how to read a pattern, how to select the correct fabrics for a pattern and how to construct your first garment project. In addition, you will be learning the process of garment sewing from beginning to end hands-on by creating a basic woven shirt. The pattern selected for this class is a women's fit for sizes 0 - 32.
If you do not own a sewing machine, we have the Baby Lock Presto II sewing machine available for use.

Shopping time will be provided in the first session for all additional materials that will be needed. We recommend budgeting $35. |

Cancellation Policy A Student may cancel a class registration via email (education@urbanspools.com) or by phone at 214-324-5755. Cancellations with more than 3 days prior notice may request a full refund. Cancellations received 1 - 3 days before the class will receive credit towards another class. Any cancellations on the day of the class cannot be refunded or transferred. PLEASE NOTE: This class covers multiple sessions. Ensure you are able to attend each session before registering. Urban Spools is Moving!
After 10 years in Casa Linda Plaza, we are moving on to a bigger and better location! But, this relocation will happen in 2 phases.

Here, we will continue to offer the products and services you expect from Urban Spools - Baby Lock sewing machines, modern fabric, patterns, sewing classes, longarm quilting services, and machine repair services.

Early 2025, we will open our new permanent home back in East Dallas. Our new location will offer more retail space, additional classroom capacity, and an overall better location experience to better serve you. We will keep you all informed with dates and details on our website, social media, and at our temp location so stay tuned!
