Level 3 Design: Custom Design with Knits and Specialty Fabrics
When creating a custom outfit with knits or specialty fabrics, you may encounter challenges such as fabric stretch and recovery, seam stability, proper drape, and the need for specialized sewing techniques to maintain structure and durability.
In this class, you will learn how to create a custom piece taking into account the use of knits and specialty fabrics on a half sloper, and transfer the designs to your full sloper to create a custom pattern.
PLEASE NOTE: Independent work outside of the classroom is a core part of Level 3 classes. If you are unable to complete construction tasks before each session, you will fall behind on hands-on construction. There are no make-up or refunds on missed sessions.

Urban Spools is Moving!
After 10 years in Casa Linda Plaza, we are moving on to a bigger and better location! But, this relocation will happen in 2 phases.

Here, we will continue to offer the products and services you expect from Urban Spools - Baby Lock sewing machines, modern fabric, patterns, sewing classes, longarm quilting services, and machine repair services.
Phase 2: NEW Location for 2025

Early 2025, we will open our new permanent home back in East Dallas. Our new location will offer more retail space, additional classroom capacity, and an overall better location experience to better serve you. We will keep you all informed with dates and details on our website, social media, and at our temp location so stay tuned!
