Handwork Project: Boro Mending
Join us for a beginner-friendly handwork class where you’ll learn practical and creative mending techniques! In this workshop, you’ll complete two denim mends and one stretchy fabric mend, each designed to give you hands-on experience with visible repair methods.
These finished pieces can be kept as handy reference samples or used as ready-to-sew patches for your own clothing, bags, jackets, or any sewing project at home. Whether you're looking to refresh your favorite jeans or personalize your next project with meaningful detail, this class is the perfect introduction to the art of slow stitching and visible mending.
In this class, Students will learn how to mend a denim hole from behind, a denim hole from the front, and a stretchy fabric mend such as one might get in a t-shirt. Students will learn how to prepare the fabric, how to adhere the fabric to the mend, and what to take into account when mending a stretchy fabric and stitching techniques. Students should complete 3 samples.
All materials provided – just bring your enthusiasm to learn and stitch!
