"One lockdown evening in May, we sat down as a family to watch live as the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket took off with the 'Dragon' crew to begin their 250 mile journey to the International Space Station. Many hours later, we were able to see the astronauts arrive safely, and could only marvel at the extraordinary achievements of all involved. A truly fascinating and optimistic story for 2020.
And so, I began to daydream about the great wide unknown above us, to doodle stars and constellations and to create galaxies with ink and bleach. Before long I had a sketchbook of ideas and a new fabric collection on the way.
I hope Astra encourages you to create quilts for all the star gazers in your life."

Urban Spools is Moving!
After 10 years in Casa Linda Plaza, we are moving on to a bigger and better location! But, this relocation will happen in 2 phases.

We are now open for business in our temporary home approximately 1 mile from Mr Sewing Machine in West Dallas at 2936 Reward Lane. Here, we will continue to offer the products and services you expect from Urban Spools - Baby Lock sewing machines, modern fabric, patterns, sewing classes, longarm quilting services, and machine repair services.
Phase 2: NEW Location for 2025

Early 2025, we will open our new permanent home back in East Dallas. Our new location will offer more retail space, additional classroom capacity, and an overall better location experience to better serve you. We will keep you all informed with dates and details on our website, social media, and at our temp location so stay tuned!
