Intro to Sewing, Part 1: Machine Basics
If you have been wanting to learn the basics about using a sewing machine, this class is for you. You will learn your way around the sewing machine, including how to wind the bobbin, thread the machine and sewing using a seam allowance. You will also create your first sewing project while learning these skills. This class will build a foundation that will take your sewing where ever you want to go!
If you own a sewing machine, we recommend you to bring it to class so you can learn the basics of your specific machine. If you do not own a sewing machine, we have the Baby Lock Presto II sewing machine available for use.

Cancellations with more than 3 days prior notice may request a full refund. Cancellations received 1 - 3 days before the class will receive credit towards another class. Urban Spools is Moving!
After 10 years in our Casa Linda location, we will be relocating to a new home. Our last day of operation at our Casa Linda store will be May 29, 2024. After that, our relocation will happen in 2 phases.
Phase 1: Temp Location starting June 1, 2024
2936 Reward Lane Dallas, TX 75220
We will open for business in our temporary home on June 1st. We will be approximately 1 mile from Mr Sewing Machine in West Dallas at 2936 Reward Lane. Here, we will continue to offer the products and services you expect from Urban Spools - Baby Lock sewing machines, modern fabric, patterns, sewing classes, longarm quilting services, and machine repair services.
Phase 2: NEW Location for 2025

Early 2025, we will open our new permanent home back in East Dallas. Our new location will offer more retail space, additional classroom capacity, and an overall better location experience to better serve you. We will keep you all informed with dates and details on our website, social media, and at our temp location so stay tuned!
Stay With Us as we Transition!
As we hop around, we want to thank you upfront for your continued support as we move on to bigger and better. But, we can only do this with your help - please help us spread the word about our relocation! As you all shop with us throughout May, our Team will be handing out maps, answer questions, and continue with classes. But, come May 30th, don't freak when you see our old location empty - all of our smiling faces will be eager to visit with you at our temporary location beginning June 1.
